The Land of Thunder Dragon
Bhutan remained, until recently, a hermit kingdom, preserving its rich cultural identity through years of isolation. Cocooned in the Himalayas, Bhutan is a retreat with natural scenic beauty with its magnificent snow-capped peaks, dense forest and rich flora. “The Land of the Thunder Dragon” so called, seems a contradictory name for a country that combines tranquility, tranquility and hospitality.
Bhutan is located at the eastern end of the Himalayan mountains and shares its southern, eastern and western borders with India and north with China. Bhutan’s landscapes stretch from the subtropical plains in the south to the Himalayan heights in the north, with peaks exceeding 7000m above sea level. There are 20 Districts in the country known as dzongkhags
